Summary

Objectives: • To assess the structure and functioning of the Antarctic coastal ecosystem and the relationships between marine and terrestrial biota. • To assess the origin of organic matter and minerals in the Antarctic coastal ecosystem and the pathways of organic matter and minerals between the coastal marine and terrestrial systems.


Purpose

The vegetation structure of coastal vegetation both emerged and submerged is studied. Species diversity, biomass, photosynthesis of key species is recorded.
